NOTE TO EDITORS--Idol MacDonald Joins D250's Rockin' Concert September 26, 2008

Democracy 250's Rockin' in the Free World Concert is even more star-studded with the addition of Mitch MacDonald, a top two Canadian Idol finalist, to kick off the evening portion of the concert.
MacDonald, a native of Port Hood, Inverness Co., joins a long list of talented performers for the free concert in Halifax's Grand Parade on Saturday, Sept .27.
Multi-platinum, multi-Juno nominated, multi-Much Music Video Award winners Hedley will take the stage at about 10 p.m. as the concert's headline act. Other performers during the night concert, hosted by popular Much Music VJ Devon Soltendieck, include ill Scarlett, Chad Hatcher, Jordan Croucher, Dwight d'Eon and Canadian Idol winner Theo Tames.
Nikki Balch, Z103.5 morning co-host, D250 youth ambassador and host of the afternoon concert, said, "It's going to be nuts. The line-up is fabulous and it's free. Rain or shine, I expect thousands to turn out for an amazing day of entertainment."
The D250 Rockin in the Free World Concert, co-sponsored by Apathy is Boring, begins at 2 p.m., with afternoon performances by Stephanie Hardy, Lone Cloud, Samantha Robichaud and Blueberry Grunt.
